Lucknow: Ever met a bride who doesn’t wear red sindoor, red chooda or paayal? Chances are she’d be from a village called Kamalpura where terror strikes when a bride decks up in her finery. On 6th August at 9 PM, Zee TV will launch a clutter-breaking weekend fiction show that centres around a ferocious monster who directs his wrath towards newly-wed brides.
Having partnered with Zee TV and given viewers successful primetime dramas like Hum Paanch, Kasamh Se, Pavitra Rishta, Jodha Akbar and KumKum Bhagya over the years, Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms will produce this show titled ‘Brahmarakshas-Jaag Utha Shaitan’. Making a comeback on television after a gap of almost three years, actorRakshanda Khan is in the city of Nawabs today to promote her show.
Rakshanda who will be seen as Mohini Srivastava in the show shares, “I am really excited to be back on television and what better show for a comeback than ‘Brahmarakshas-Jaag Utha Shaitan’. I was indeed waiting for a role like this and when the script was narrated to me, I agreed instantly. My daughter is just 18 months old and before signing any new project, I’ve to take that into consideration and then plan my schedule. The show has every possible element to it, be it strong concept, creative people like Ekta Kapoor and Balaji Telefilms and a channel like Zee TV, moreover it’s a weekend property and not a daily one, I couldn’t have asked for more. I am thoroughly enjoying playing the part of Mohini Srivastava, a hoity-toity socialite who donates a lot of money to charity and brags about it amongst her social circles. She loves her family the most and can go to great lengths to fulfill the wishes of her loved ones. She is vivacious, but there is more to her than the image she reveals. The show is an amalgamation of various flavors … it has everything from romance to thrills to drama and fantasy, so I have great expectations from the show. I hope the audience will appreciate our creative effort”.
With elements of drama, intrigue and thrills and an impressive ensemble cast, Brahmarakshas is bound to fascinate every member of the family. The leading lady of the show is none other than the young and talented Krystle D’souza who has mesmerized millions of viewers with her beauty and charm. Television heartthrob Aham Sharma has been cast opposite Krystle as the male lead of the show while the renowned Rakshanda Khan plays his mother’s role. The casting for the Brahamrakshas is still in process!
Brahmarakshas is the story of a young girl from Mumbai named Raina who goes to Kamalpura with her best friend to attend a wedding. On reaching there, Raina and Rishabh lose the one person who was special to both of them in an encounter with the Brahmarakshas. Raina & Rishabh decide to get into a contract marriage so that they can take the Brahmarakshas to task as he is responsible for the death of all the women wearing Sindoor, Chuda and Payal.
